The Colorado Rockies have continued to play .500 ball in the month of August, a far cry from the necessary run to get into the playoffs, as they lost 6-0 to the LA Dodgers last night.
Eric Young and Dexter Fowler did their job setting the table getting on base 6 times in 9 PAs, and even stole 3 bases. But the battery behind them didnt get it done going just 2-for-26 and leaving 10 baserunners out there.

While all the focus in MLB was on the last-minute deal inked by phenom Bryce Harper and the Washington Nationals, the Colorado Rockies got in on the late-night action signing first-round pick Kyle Parker.
The two-sport standout from Clemson signed for $1.4 million with just minutes to spare before the deadline at 10 p.m. MST.
Parker became the first player in NCAA history this year to throw 20 touchdown passes and hit 20 home runs last year.
Talks had reportedly slowed between the organization and the player in late July, when Parker announced he'd return to Clemson to play football.

Pete Thomas has gone from a hyped recruit to the starting quarterback of the CSU Rams.
Head Coach Steve Fairchild made the announcement the freshman would be under center for the first snap against CU on September 4.
Thomas, a poised 6-foot-5, 218-pound passer from Valhalla High School in El Cajon, Calif., was rated the No. 6 pro-style QB in the nation by Tom Lemming (USA Today Super 25). Rivals.com also ranked him the country's No. 16 pro-style quarterback and No. 48 overall prospect from the state of California.

With five returning starters, including honorable mention All-American Danielle Minch, and an incoming freshman class ranked No. 15 nationally by PrepVolleyball.com, the CSU volleyball team was selected as the preseason favorite in the Mountain West by the league’s coaches and a panel of select media.
Colorado State received 15 of 16 first-place votes tallying 134 total points. Utah finished second in the vote with 104 points, Wyoming was seventh with 43, and Air Force finished ninth with 16.
