Pittsburg State upends CSC, 41-13

The Buffs, losing a home opener for the second time in coach Dan Hawkins' four-year tenure, now face one of the quicker turnarounds in school history. They play again Friday night (7 p.m. MDT, ESPN) at Toledo, which lost its opener 52-31 to Purdue.

CSU, which had lost seven consecutive games at Folsom Field entering Sunday's contest, took the opening kickoff and marched 80 yards in six plays to score the afternoon's first touchdown.

Christensen said he was pleased with the win but thought the offense could have put more points on the board...

The Falcons obliged, even sending assistant coaches to Thibodaux, La., to give a hands-on tutorial.

On Saturday, the Colonels witnessed the option operating on all cylinders. It was another Air Force clinic.

Jared Tew scored three touchdowns and Tim Jefferson accounted for three more as the Falcons rolled to the largest margin of victory in school history in a 72-0 rout.

The Falcons (1-0) piled up 576 yards of total offense as they improved to 14-0 against Football Championship Subdivision schools...
